CELESTIAL SET is a distinctive yet recognizable coffee utensils set designed for influential glass utensils brand VISIONS from Corelle Brands.
We designed a coffee brewing kit for the Corelle Brands , a century-old international brand. We focused on reinterpreting the professional coffee brewing equipment and behavior in a more approachable 、 fashionable "Corelle Brands' style" throughout the whole project, providing users with a more relaxed and delicate coffee brewing experience through thoughtful concept and recognizable identity.
For filter cup products, we found that traditional filter cups often rely on a handle-designed shape to solve the problem of scalding when grabbing, which destroys the integrity of the outline. Therefore, we created a unique "star ring feature" by applying the double layer structure of glass for the filter cup to completely solve the problem of temperature and difficulty in handling when picking up and placing the filter cup. The dust cover on the top of the filter cup can be used as a waste-liquid cup during coffee brewing, making it easier for users to directly place the filter cup on top after operating, and deal with the waste liquid at the end of the coffee brewing process with more ease without contaminating the tabletop.
During the project process, our team and the Corning team jointly overcome the difficulties in the water flow control ability of the hand brewing kettle, enabling the glass spoutto have a comparable or even exceeding waterflow control ability to that of the metal ones.
On this basis, we highlighted the transparency of glass to create a unique double-angle water level ruler for the hand brewing kettle in the kit, which is convenient for direct guidance of the best pouring angle and accurate indication of the amount of water remaining even when tilted.
We also designed a regular spherical pot body shape for the hand brewing kettle. The handle design of the hand brewing kettle breaks away from the stereotype of conventional products' handle design, providing users with a more flexible visual impression while providing a more suitable and effortless operating experience for the general public through a more reasonable mechanical layout concern.
